Meev works the newest patch of the search industry: AI visibility — whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI features cite your site when they answer questions in your niche, and what to change so they cite you more. The trade is calling this GEO (generative engine optimisation), because the trade never met an acronym it didn’t like.
The underlying problem is real, and this site can vouch for that much from its own logs: AI assistants increasingly answer directly, and being the cited source is the new being on page one. Whether you need a paid tool to track it is a different question, and mostly a question of size.
What it costs
A trial exists (card required — noted, and not our favourite pattern), with real plans from $49 a month up to enterprise tiers in the $269–599 range. That pricing tells you the intended customer: agencies and brands with meaningful search revenue, not solo bloggers. A small site can test its own AI visibility manually — ask the assistants your niche’s ten big questions and see who they cite — for free.
What we can’t tell you
How accurate its citation tracking is across the assistants, which each rework their answering machinery constantly — the category’s tracking targets move monthly. And the honest structural caveat: GEO is young enough that nobody, vendor or critic, can yet prove which optimisations reliably cause citations. You are partly buying measurement, partly buying a bet on a playbook still being written.
