GearDex is a working photographer’s app built by one: inventory of every body, lens and light with purchase records and insurance values, the business admin around them, and lately client galleries with covers, favourites and full-res downloads. It’s the unglamorous operating layer for people whose gear is their balance sheet.
What it costs
Free tier for the core inventory; paid plans (roughly $1–11/mo range visible) for galleries and the business layer. Solo-dev pricing, refreshingly un-greedy.
What we can’t tell you
The spreadsheet test: every gear tracker competes with the spreadsheet you already half-maintain, and wins only if entry is fast enough that you actually log the new lens the day it arrives. Also the solo-dev question, asked kindly: check export options, because your insurance records should outlive any app’s roadmap.
