FigCraft speaks fluent Figma — frames, auto layout, components, variables — as free, open-source software in your browser. Post-Adobe-courtship and post-seat-price-rises, the appetite for an exit is real, and open source is the only exit that can’t be acquired out from under you.
What it costs
Free and open source. The price is paid in ecosystem: no plugin marketplace, no design-community muscle memory, and whatever rough edges the issue tracker currently holds.
What we can’t tell you
Import fidelity — the entire migration question. A Figma alternative is only as good as what survives the journey: bring over one real file with auto layout and components, not a rectangle, and count the breakages. For solo work and side projects the answer is probably “good enough”; for a team mid-project, the answer is a test, not a review.
