imagetolatex serves the nightly grind of students and academics: a screenshot or photo of an equation in, LaTeX code (or an editable Word equation) out, with an editor and reference guides around it. Mathpix proved the demand then moved it behind subscription limits; a free lane for the same chore has a guaranteed audience.
What it costs
Free for the core conversion; a pricing tier exists for volume.
What we can’t tell you
Accuracy on the hard cases — nested fractions, matrices, handwritten derivations. Math OCR is excellent on textbook-clean input and inventive on everything else, and a subtly wrong exponent is worse than no conversion. The habit: render the output and eyeball it against the source every time. It’s still 10Ă— faster than typing; it’s just not faster than typing wrong.
